How much does a fireplace cost installed in southwest Wisconsin?

Most fireplace, stove, and insert installs in our service area run between $5,000 and $15,000 fully installed, depending on fuel type, venting, and finish work. Freestanding wood stoves are usually the most cost-effective; wood fireplaces with full chimney systems are on the higher end; gas falls in the middle. What drives the price up or down?

Three big factors: the unit itself, the venting requirements (a unit going into an existing chimney is much simpler than running new venting through three floors of new construction), and the finish work (a basic install vs. a custom mantel and stone surround). Most installs land somewhere in the middle, but the spread is wide enough that an estimate is worth two minutes.

Is the instant estimate really free?

Yes. It takes about two minutes and gets you a real price range for any fireplace, stove, or insert we carry—the unit, the venting it needs, and installation. The follow-up in-home or showroom appointment is also free, and that’s where we confirm the venting path, measurements, and finish details. No deposit required to schedule.

Who does the installation?

We handle every install in-house—NFI- and CSIA-certified, no subcontractors. From the first measure to the final walkthrough, including all venting, gas lines, and hearth pads, the same crew is on the job. And we’re the same crew you’ll call two winters later when something needs service.

How long does a fireplace installation take?

Most gas fireplace, stove, and insert installs are a one-day job once the unit is on site. Wood-burning installs that involve a full chimney system can run 2 to 3 days. From contract to install is usually 3–5 weeks, depending on the unit’s lead time from the manufacturer.

Most municipalities in Wisconsin require permits for new gas line work, chimney structural changes, and certain new-build installs. We pull the permits as part of the install—it’s included in the price. For a straight replacement using the same venting path, the paperwork is usually simple.
