The Same Crew—from Sale to Service—Since 1991
Family-run, NFI- and CSIA-certified, serving southwest Wisconsin for 35 years from our Richland Center showroom
A Fireplace That Holds Up—and a Team That Sticks Around
Whatever brought you here, the want is the same—a fireplace that holds heat when the temperature drops, runs reliably year after year, and gives your family somewhere to gather on cold nights.
The problem isn’t finding a fireplace. The problem is finding one that actually performs in southwest Wisconsin, installed by someone who’ll still be in business when it needs service two winters from now. Outdated units don’t hold the room. Cut-corner installs get red-tagged when the inspector finds them. And the installer who promised to come back for service often turns out to be hard to reach by the time you actually need him.
Every family should have heat they can count on—reliable, beautiful, and ready when winter sets in. That’s the bar you should hold any installer to.
You don’t want a salesperson—you want someone who’s actually used the unit you’re considering. We heat our own homes with wood stoves and gas fireplaces, so when you ask us how a unit holds up in cold weather, you’re asking people who use these same units in their own houses.
Hiring someone to install it right—and stand behind the work for years—is harder than the install itself. Center Stove & Fireplace started as a service business back in 1991. We swept chimneys, fixed gas inserts, and learned how all of it actually breaks. Sales came later. Now, 35 years in, we still handle everything in-house—sales, installation, and service—with NFI- and CSIA-certified work and 4.9 stars on Google. We don’t subcontract a single install or service call.
When the install goes in, the burn looks right, and the inspector signs off on a code-compliant job, you don’t have to think about your hearth again—until next fall, when it’s time for service. And we’ll be the ones who pick up the phone.
We can help you, too.
What 35 Years In-House Means for You
No Subcontractors
Same crew on the sale, the install, and the service call two winters from now. We don’t hand the job off to strangers.
NFI- and CSIA-Certified
Hearth installation and chimney safety certifications, held by the people doing the actual work.
Family-Run Since 1991
Same family, same Richland Center showroom, same in-house team—for 35 years and counting.
Real Heat, Less Fuel
High-efficiency hearths that hold the room when the temperature drops—and won’t run up the energy bill doing it.
Code-Compliant Installs
Every install passes inspection. We handle permits, venting, and clearances so the inspector signs off the first time.
Service Business First
We started in 1991 sweeping chimneys and fixing inserts. Sales came later—and we still earn our living by doing the work, not just selling it.
Same Crew, Start to Finish
You Talk to Someone Who’s Done the Work
When you call us about a unit, you’re talking to people who’ve installed it, serviced it, or burned one in their own home for the last 35 years.
We Show Up—In Person
We come to your house, see the space, and walk through real options at your kitchen table. No upselling, no salesperson pressure—just an honest read of the job.
We’re Still Here Two Winters Later
Same crew installs it. Same crew sweeps the chimney and tunes the unit when it needs service. The number you called the first time still works.
Real Reviews from Wisconsin Families
“From start to finish, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. The fireplace installation went smoothly, and the finished product looks absolutely stunning. Once our house is finished the fireplace will be the centerpiece of our home. Thanks again Jeff, Dennis, and Corey!”—Kate Boran

“Replaced ventless antique fireplace with this new KOZY very efficient model. Surprised at how well it heats. Back up furnace is taking a much needed rest. Competitive pricing and very respectful treatment in all.”
—Pam Liana“They are extremely professional and knowledgeable. They do a LOT more than just take a look at it. Everything was checked, inside and outside the insert and home. Way more than I thought a service would be.”
—Brett Iverson“We had problems with 2 gas inserts installed by another company that were never solved in 3 years. We contacted Center Stove and they were excellent. The technician took a great deal of time explaining things. They will be back for yearly service.”
